Macallan celebrates the Year of the Dog in its own way. For that occasion a single malt Scotch whisky distillery released Double Cask 12 Year Old Single Malt (2 x700ml).
This Limited Edition is the second in a series of annual releases celebrating The Macallan’s obsession with wood. One of the most famous single malt whiskies in the world comes as a gift pack containing two bottles of the Macallan 12 Years Old Double Cask with the art work on the label celebrating Chinese New Year 2018 Year Of The Dog. For collectors, there’s one bottle to drink and one bottle to add to the collection.
Macallan Double Cask 12 Year Old Single Malt
This is exclusively sherry seasoned whisky with the perfect balance of European and American oak maturation to create a distinctive American oak style – sweet, honeyed and rounded. Tasting notes describe the color as harvest sun; the nose as creamy butterscotch, toffee apple, candied orange, vanilla custard and fresh oak. The palate features ginger, nutmeg, citrus, caramel, raisins and resin. Oak lingers, warm, sweet and drying on the finish.
The beautiful illustration featured on the Limited-Edition gift box was inspired by the incredible story behind The Macallan’s exceptional oak casks. By overseeing every step, The Macallan is bound by mastery and the extraordinary journey that takes the oak from the forest floor to the distillery in Scotland.
