Since 1860, Constant Girard worked on the movement architecture in addition to technical and finishes details. He thus developed the famous parallel “Three Bridges” under which the mechanism was aligned. One of the most legendary of all these tourbillons was the one know as “La Esmeralda.”

Designed like a “secret” watch, for the first time the new interpretation of La Esmeralda features a cover protecting the back of the model. This element further adds to the precious nature of this creation and promotes a special sense of privileged intimacy with the wearer. The entirely hand-engraved pink gold case picks up the brilliantly executed motifs adorning the 1889 model.

Three horses thus gallop across the outside of the cover, while the interior is engraved with the inscriptions “Tourbillon” and “La Chaux-de-Fonds”, leaving enough space for personalisation by the future owner.
The GP09400 is developed and manufactured in-house. Thanks to its ingenious construction, the barrel was resized in order to house a longer barrel spring and to offer a longer power reserve, min. 60 hours instead of 48 hours for the traditional model.
