Products made of concrete may sometimes look uneasy and without any sophistication, because it is often very difficult to get this material to be obedient when it comes to delicate designs …
Dror Kaspi, designer behind ARDOMA Design brand, has a long history of moving borders when it comes to concrete possibilities, and his latest collection is no exception to this story. Dror presents to us HELIA lighting, which is hanging and table lighting with unique mesh structures, imitated by woven concrete, which was created with the inspiration of sunflower seeds and Fibonacci spirals.
Two-way spirals of seeds posed as a unique challenge that had to be overcome-how do the concrete to follow this delicate nature and become its equally delicate replica?
The people from the ARDOMA Design studio created a special mix of concrete, along with a new casting method, in order to produce results that allow the light to penetrate through small perforations.
At first glance, it’s hard to believe that these lamps and chandeliers are made of concrete, right?
HELIA collection is available in gray, dark gray, white, yellow, blue and red concrete variants.
