Two years ago artist Daniel Jacob revealed his crystallized Air Jordan 1 sculptures at the Market Art and Design show in the Hamptons. Since then, his work has also been noticed by Jordan Brand, and now he’s making wearable pieces for them.
Now, Chicago native has crafted this version of Michael Jordan‘s first signature sneaker covered with over 15,000 Swarovski crystals and appears to be totally wearable.
As you can see, the shoe, currently dubbed “Chicago Winter,” has the identical color blocking as the OG Chicago colorway that is regarded as one of the most popular Jordan 1s of all-time.
The work was so good that Jordan Brand employee Frank Cooker shared them on Instagram.
“These are literally luxury wearable pieces of art and the picture doesn’t do them any justice!” said Cooker.
While this pair isn’t currently available, Jacob is selling an all-gold version of the shoe for $6,500 at thedanlife.com.
