On April 1st, Scotland’s Dalmore distillery, led by master distiller Richard Patterson will unveil a 45 year single malt on April 1, with an eye-popping price of $12,500 per bottle.
The liquid has been aged in American white oak ex-Bourbon casks, before being transferred into two Vintage Graham’s Port Colheita pipes dating from 1961 and 1963. Finally, the whisky was re-blended in first-fill American white oak ex-Bourbon casks.
The expression is presented in a Baccarat crystal decanter featuring The Dalmore’s Royal Stag emblem, produced by Royal Warrant holder Hamilton & Inches.
When talking about taste, The Dalmore 45 is said to have a flavour of red berries, soft liquorice, crushed hazelnuts, bitter chocolate and Manuka honey, followed by sweet notes of sticky toffee pudding, Bramley apples and juicy dates.
Just 500 bottles of The Dalmore 45 will be released globally, with already mentioned price of $12,500 per bottle. Cheers!
