Louis Vuitton teamed up with Sigfox, the leading IoT service provider to lauch a luggage tracker that pairs with particular bags sold by the fashion company.
The Louis Vuitton Echo, as it’s called, pairs with the luxury designer’s Horizon luggage line of Horizon 50, 55, and 70 cases and when inserted inside a dedicated elastic band, it can detect when the bag is opened. It’s also powered by Sigfox’s Monarch service, which lets devices like the Echo transmit data through a range of radio frequencies in airports around the world, meaning the tracker will work internationally.

It can operate for up to six months on a full battery and can be recharged via simple USB cable.
The device itseelf is essentially a black stick with some smarts inside and ofcourse also featuring the all-important LV logo on its exterior.
The Louis Vuitton Echo only works within certain major international airports covered by Sigfox’s mobile geolocation service; Judging by the company’s coverage map, that includes most of Northern and Western Europe, along with highly-populated cities in the US, South Africa, Brazil, Mexico, Iran, Oman, Taiwan, Japan, Australia and New Zealand (though it’s ‘rolling out’ across the rest of those countries). Anyone buying a Louis Vuitton Echo gets three years of Sigfox service included with purchase of the device.
