The US company Orion Span will soon provide a travel service outside our planet.
Founder and CEO Frank Bunger announced his project at the Space 2.0 summit in California, and according to him, a luxury space hotel called Aurora Station will be launched in 2021. The first guests will be able to stay in 2022.
As for the price, few will be able to afford such a trip, as it will cost $9.5 million for the twelve days of space spent in the universe.
Six people (four passengers and two crew members) can stay in the hotel. Orion Span offers an unforgettable experience, as travelers will experience zero gravity and have a stunning view of planet Earth. At the same time, it will experience 16 sunrise and sunsets in one day.
Frank Bunger says their mission is to build self-sustaining communities in the universe that will be available to everyone.
“After the launch, Aurora Station will bring travelers to space faster than ever before and at a lower price, at the same time giving them an unforgettable experience,” said Bunger.
Experts from the company intend to build a space station on their own, but the launch may be done in cooperation with other companies.
This space hotel will be 13.3 meters long and 4.3 meters wide. Passengers will be able to use high speed internet to communicate with family and friends. In a luxuriously decorated space, they will be able to experience the life of an astronaut.
Before the trip, tourists will have to spend three months training in Houston.
If there is a great demand for such a trip, Bunger and plans to sell apartments in the aircraft in which people will one day also be able to live. People will have the opportunity to rent or buy space in Aurora.
