Phillips Auction in Geneva, sets a new record every day …
After record sales for brands such as Rolex and Omega, another brand raised the scale. It’s A. Lange & Sohne, whose 1815 homage to Walter Lange is sold at a price of $852,414.
This extraordinary watch is dedicated to the company’s founder, Walter Lange, who passed away last year. The model has an interesting mechanism, a black enamel dial segment and a stainless steel case.
All earnings from the sale of this watch went to the Children Action Foundation, a Swiss organization that promotes the physical and emotional well-being of vulnerable children and youth from eight countries around the world.
CEO of Lange Brand, William Schmitt, said: “The result was far better than our expectations. I am very pleased with the fact that we can make such a great contribution to the Children Action Foundation and their important work, just as our founder did.
The fact that the watch is auctioned for that amount is not only a reflection of the increased value of our models, but the admiration that the collectors feel about our brand. ”
Otherwise, this model that was auctioned was unique, and other editions of this style will be on sale this fall. The brand has created 27 versions of yellow gold, 90 versions of pink gold and 145 versions of white gold. Price is yet to be discovered.
