For just £10 you could win the keys to a £1.2 million Chateau on a little over two and a half acres of land surrounded by a private wooded area. This giant French chateau dates back to 1667, and boasts a connection to the Knights Templar.
Ruth Phillips, 61, a British who owns Chateau de Cautine, is offering her magical property as a competition prize.
The chateau is in its original condition and contains many artefacts dating back nearly four centuries. It has been fully restored and has full central heating, new plumbing and electrics throughout.

There are also two barns and a restored separate cottage, which could be used for visiting relatives or as accommodation for the extended family. A large 12x7metre swimming pool, above, is perfect for cooling off during summer in France
There is plenty of history here, too, as uring World War II, the chateau was used as a refuge for Jewish families, who hid in a secret compartment in the attic. Ruth says there’s a low ceiling at the end of one of the corridors upstairs, and in the attic there is a hidden space, which would be the ‘most likely’ space they had escaped to.
Although it has been valued by a French estate agent at €1.4 million (£1.23 million), it could cost the new owner just £10 – the cost of a ticket to enter the draw – as Ruth is selling up to spend more time with her family back in the UK.
