During the history, the British have created a number of beautiful cars, and perhaps the most beautiful among them is the Bentley S1 Continental Drophead Coupe. Just one copy of this model is coming soon for auction.
Unlike other convertible models that Bentley created at that time, the S1 DHC was originally conceived as an open-roof car, and its body was created by Park Ward in 1956.
Unlike the later models S2 and S3 Continental, which had V8 units, under the hood of the S1, a regular six-cylinder aggregate with a displacement of 4.9 liters was hiding. Thanks to this, this model was lighter than its successors.
Accordingly, the Bentley S1 Continental DHC has reached a maximum speed of 194 km/h, which was extremely fast at that time. Also, this model had an adjustable suspension, which the driver could adjust during driving.
Only 31 copies of this model have been produced with the steering wheel on the left. The model you can see in the gallery was owned by its first owner for 25 years. After that, it changed several owners, and is currently completely restored, and it looks like just got off the production line.
RM Sotheby will put this car at auction in August.
