One of the best copies of the Ferrari 250 GTO was sold to American collector David MacNeil for a record $70 million.
It’s the biggest sum paid for a classic car. Ferrari 250 GTO was produced in 1963, and WeatherTech’s director, David MacNeil, paid $70 million for it. The car carries the serial number 4153 GT and is one of the most famous of the 39 produced specimens due to its history in the competitions, but also its originality. An important fact is certainly that it never experienced an accident.

It differs in the silver and yellow color of the body as opposed to the usual red, and is in the focus of the book published last year.
Ferrari 250 GTO took part in races on on tracks, roads and rallies, as well as in endurance races and mountain races.
The famous British specialist for Ferrari’s cars DK Engineering restored it in the 1990s, and in 2013 he received the Ferrari Classic certificate.
Number 250 refers to the engine, or 250cc per cylinder. This 3.0 liter V12 engine delivers 300 hp.
