Back in 2016, Jacob & Co. introduced the mind-blowing Twin Turbo watch which showcased a world premiere combination of a decimal minute repeater and twin triple axis tourbillons. This year, the brand introduced the Twin Turbo Furious, a watch with an insane, staggering combination of complications: a double triple axis tourbillon, a decimal minute repeater, a chronograph… and more!
Cased in black DLC titanium and carbon fibre, the Twin Turbo Furious is a leviathan (57mm x 52mm). The complex case is made of 88 parts. The watch is wound up through the crank placed on the crown at 3 o’clock. The dial is smoked sapphire crystal allowing a view of the movement’s intricacies. It features the “Jacob & Co.” logo and a red neoralithe inner ring with seconds graduation and indexes with luminescent material. The power reserve is displayed at 6 o’clock on the dial.
Thanks to a planetary system comprising a differential gear mechanism, the hand points to a full power reserve on the left, then moves to the right as the 50 hours of power reserve winds down. A crank on the crown at 3 o’clock is used to wind the watch.
The twin tourbillons rotate on three axes at accelerated rates; it takes just 24 seconds to complete a full rotation on the first axis, 8 seconds on the second axis, and 3o seconds on the third.
The Twin Turbo Furious is endowed with a decimal minute repeater which functions slightly differently compared to a regular minute repeater. After chiming the hours, the decimal minute repeater does not chime the quarters like a regular minute repeater would – instead it chimes every ten minutes.
Jacob & Co.Twin Turbo Furious is fitted with a leather strap secured on a folding buckle. A limited edition of 18 pieces, it retails for CHF 525,000.
