Original Benz Patent-Motorwagen, a three-wheeler which is considered the first ever made car, was created in 1885.
Patent-Motorwagen was made by Carl Benz in 1885 and sold for 600 Deutsche Marks at that time, which today would be around 3,500 euros. The general public had the opportunity to get to know the first car in July 1886, and in the next six years about 25 of these vehicles were made.
Patent-Motorwagen was powered by a four-cylinder petrol engine with a single cylinder, with a working volume of 954 cc, developed by Benz himself.

This, in its time, a revolutionary engine delivered just under 1 hp at 400 rpm. For some of the later copies of the Patent-Motorwagen model, stronger power units have been developed, with a power output of between 1 and 2 hp, thanks to which the car could travel at a speed of up to 16 km/h.
The replica, which is now on sale by the Mercedes-Benz Classic Department, was made in 2002 as part of the order of several copies of original vehicles for the Mercedes Museum.
