Due to their constantly same position in the pocket, the rate accuracy was often affected by an invisible unbalance. Thanks to the invention of the tourbillon, the unbalance was finally compensated. But for over 200 years it was impossible to precisely set the watch. Until 2008, when A. Lange & Söhne presented its patented stop-seconds solution, that it became possible to accurately set a watch with this complication. This is done with a V-shaped arresting spring that can stop the balance inside the rotating tourbillon cage at any time.

In the 1815 TOURBILLON, this device is complemented with the ZERO-RESET mechanism, which makes setting the watch even more convenient. When the crown is pulled, the seconds hand stops and jumps to the zero position. The minute hand can then be precisely positioned over a minute marker, enabling the watch to be restarted to the second.
Now, A. Lange & Söhne has unveiled a special edition of its 1815 Tourbillon watch. Limited to just 100 pieces, this luxury chronometer is now introduced with a white enamel dial.

The special edition comes with a 39.5 mm diameter platinum case, time display in hours, minutes, and subsidiary seconds, stop-seconds mechanism and the patented Zero-Reset mechanism.
A blend of traditional design and high-end technology, the 1815 Tourbillon with enamel dial features a 72-hour power reserve and is mounted on a hand-stitched black alligator strap with a large deployant buckle made of the same solid platinum as the case. The price is $197,200.
