1935 Duesenberg SSJ Became The Most Expensive American Car Ever Sold At Auction

At Gooding & Co. The auction that was held during the 2018 Monterey Car Week event was also sold 1935 Duesenberg SSJ.
This car has been sold for $22 million, making it the most expensive American car ever sold at an auction. The SSJ also holds the title of most expensive pre-War car ever sold.
It’s one of only two made SSJ models, with an eight-cylinder engine and a chassis number of 2594, and whose first owner was Hollywood actor Gary Cooper. The other one belonged to Clark Gable.

The Duesenberg SSJ wasn’t the only car to break records at the 2018 Monterey Car Week. The event also featured the auction of a Ferrari 250 GTO that broke the world record for the most expensive car ever sold at auction.
