British technology company Dyson has launched probably the most extravagant hairdryer. It is covered with a 23.75-carat gold leaves and perfectly blends engineering precision with artisan craft.
Called Supersonic hair dryer, the new blue and gold device features two layers of 23.75-carat gold leaf from Florence, Italy, was applied by hand and carefully brushed to form a smooth and even finish. With leaves of gold, each around 0.1 microns thick, hand gilding is a delicate craft.

The gold leaf is delicate and should be treated with care. Through use, some of the red base color may become visible beneath through the gold. This is intentional and should not be considered a defect, but rather something that makes each hair dryer unique to its owner.
Dyson Supersonic is six times smaller and three times lighter than your average hair dryer. If you want one, be ready to splash out $500 for it.
