Before it became one of the most desirable golf destinations, this location was a race track. Founded in 1957, this track has been considered one of the most challenging for many years, and in order to celebrate this year’s event, Richard Mille brand introduced a new watch – RM 12-01 Tourbillon, with a price of $828,000.
RM 12-01 Tourbillon
The mechanism hidden inside the case of this new model, is based on the RM 012 variant, which was first introduced in 2006. It was one of the earliest achievements of this brand, created just five years after the original launch of this watchmaker’s house. Of course, this model aroused the waves on a quiet watchmaker’s pier because it was the first manual watch with a base plate and a bridge made of steel and titanium, so it won the grand prize of the Grand Prix de l’Horlogerie de Geneve for its incredible concept.

Visible through the front part of the sapphire crystal case, the architectural design of the mechanism has torsional rigidity which, as a result, creates resistance to thermal changes and corrosive elements.
he new RM 12-01 lends the architecture of this model, but this time, its underlay is aesthetically inspired by the chassis of a racing car. It supports three-dimensional titanium bridges, which with their skeletonized appearance adhere to a large spring at the top of the watch and its turbine located at the bottom. The mechanism can withstand over 5,000 gs and has an energy reserve of seventy hours.
RM 12-01 Tourbillon
Four different cases were created as options for this model, using the patented technology of this brand, Thin Ply Technology – black carbon TPT, red quartz TPT, as well as gold and carbon TPT, with everyone already already known for their incredible endurance. Each version is limited to only eighteen pieces, and we expect that these 48 mm models will sell very quickly in spite of their high price.
In the end, these models are accompanied by rubber straps with titanium buckles.
