Bulgari has introduced its most complicated watch ever; the first Octo Grande Sonnerie Perpetual Calendar combining two grand complications, the Grande Sonnerie, and the Perpetual Calendar.
It is a one-off piece that represents the most challenging and prestigious watchmaking techniques that resulted with Tourbillon, Minute Repeater, Petite and Grande Sonnerie, Perpetual Calendar, Moonphases, and the GMT functions as well as movement and chime Power-Reserve indicators.
Equipped with four hammers, the automatic movement sounds the hours, quarter-hours, and minutes on demand. The Perpetual Calendar features the full range of calendar indications – day, date, month and year – along with a moon-phase display and is equipped with a tourbillon. Beating at 3 Hz (21,600 vph), it offers a power reserve of 48 hours for the movement and 28 hours for the striking system.
The 44mm case is made out of rose gold with a sandblasted finish, while the dial on the Bulgari Octo Grand Sonnerie Perpetual Calendar is made out of sapphire crystal.
The watch comes on a black alligator leather strap with a sandblasted 18kt rose gold folding clasp. The watch was first unveiled at the beginning of July in Rome. By the end of the month, it was already sold to a collector in Asia.
