On the auction that will take place in February 2019 in Paris, one of the masterpieces of the pre-war Italian auto industry – “Alfa Romeo 8C Touring Berlinetta” from 1939 is estimated to reach the price of as much as $25 million.
At the time when manufacturers such as “Ferrari” and “Lamborghini” did not enter the scene, “Alfa Romeo” was synonymous for elegant and high-performance Italian cars which arouses passion. One of them was this car, which was born on the eve of the Second World War.

The model was originally designed with racing in mind, using a chassis based on the 8C 35 Grand Prix car.
The production version used a regular eight-cylinder 2.9-liter engine equipped with two compressors.
The 2900B, which is here, has undergone certain changes in relation to the original 2900 to make the vehicle more comfortable and reliable, but it still had enviable performance along the way, with a very striking exterior.

This particular car to be found at the auction in February is one of only five made in this configuration, in cooperation with Italian coachbuilder Touring.
The car was delivered in 1939 to the owner in England. In that country, it changed the owner three times – the last time in 1976, and the current one decided to offer it for sale at an auction in Paris.
