Rolls-Royce Corniche Convertible from 1984, owned by Frank Sinatra, one of the best music and film artists of all time soon goes to auction.
Namely, this car will be auctioned on November 10 and 11, organized by Silverstone. It is estimated that Sinatra’s car will be sold at a price between £105,000 and £125,000.
“Frank Sinatra is the name of a man who marked the world of music and culture, whose popularity did not disappear even after his death in 1998. His music and movies are still considered to be one of the best art works of all time,” said Arvel Richards, a classic car specialist who works at the Silverstone auction house.
When the singer turned 70 in 1985, then-president Ronald Reagan threw him a party at the White House. Sinatra’s great friends and fellow Rat Packers Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr decided that such an occasion demanded a similarly impressive gift, so they teamed up to buy him this Rolls-Royce Corniche.
A 1984 example in convertible guise, it arrived in the USA in November 1984, finished in black with a red leather interior. It even came complete with rear picnic tables and ‘cocktail requisites’ for both doors, naturally.
The most attention paid during the restoration was dedicated to the aggregate of 6.7 liter capacity, suspension and braking system. In the end, some £47,000 were invested in returning his old glow to this model.
