Johnnie Walker has released the fifth and final whisky in its ‘highly collectible’ John Walker & Sons Private Collection – 28 Year Old Midnight Blend.
Created by Johnnie Walker master blender Jim Beveridge and his team, the blend comprises liquid sourced from distilleries including Strathmill in Speyside and Caol Ila on Islay. These were included in three vattings, which were then blended to create the expression.
Recommended “to be savoured after-dinner, or approaching the ‘midnight’ moment,” the whisky is said to have notes of butterscotch, caramel and toffee, complemented by fruitiness and a hint of spice.
“Each individual malt and grain used in the final whisky adds layers of flavour to the 28-year-old Midnight Blend, leaving hints of fruit, sweet and spice and making it a wonderful final addition to the Private Collection.”
28 Year Old Midnight Blend will be available from this month at select locations with a recommended retail price of $750.
