Jaguar Land Rover officially promoted in London the second generation of the successful Range Rover Evoque.
So far, the first generation has been sold around 800,000 copies since the launch in 2011 to the present day, including a fairly popular Cabrio variant.
In short, the British used the design vocabulary from the Range Rover Velar for the new Evoque, and in addition to the more modern look, the new Evoque will offer even more personalization options, better economy, modified reliability, improved steering, better comfort, better sound isoalcy, digital instrument panel, new a steering wheel, a larger touch screen, and slightly more convenience.
In this regard, it offers more space for the legs of the rear seat passengers, and the luggage compartment is 10% higher than the one used in the previous model.
Also, the car has a 20 mm longer wheelbase, a short last rear suspension, a larger rear door, and new alloy wheels up to 21 inches.
It should be noted that the new Evoque was built on the upgraded D8 platform from the old model, and that the length remained 437 cm.
Initially, the new Evoque will be available with 2.0-liter Ingenium petrol and diesel engines, but will later be expanded with a plug-in hybrid version.
Almost all versions are powered by all four wheels, and the only one with the front drive is the variant D150 diesel with manual transmission. On top there is a version of the P300, with a petrol engine of 296 hp, a 9-speed ZF automatic and a 4×4 drive.
Other Evoque versions are with diesel engines of 178 hp and 237 hp, as well as gasoline engines with 197 hp, 246 hp and 296 hp.
As far as performance is concerned, the D150 diesel version with a front-wheel drive of 0-60 mph per hour (96 km/h) accelerates in 9.9 seconds and reaches a maximum of 201 km/h while the Evoque P300 petrol up to 96 km/h arrives in 6.3 seconds and can reach up to 241 km/h.
Also, every 4×4 Evoque is now a mild hybrid with 48-volt technology and a starter generator, so fuel consumption is reduced by up to 6 percent.
About a year after the start of the sale in the gama will appear the Evoque plug-in hybrid with a combination of 1.5-liter three-cylinder petrol engines with 197 hp and an electric motor. This version will only be able to exceed several tens of kilometers of electricity, and CO2 emissions will only be 45 grams per km.
