Built in the 1830’s as a replacement of the royal villa that Henry VIII donated to Catherine of Aragon, this spectacular castle brings with it a lot of history …
Devizes Castle in Britain, is a true English castle with all the elements. The old royal estate that existed on that property was transferred from generation to generation of twentieth-century nobles, until the English Civil War of 1648, when it was destroyed.
From the original castle, the outlines of the road, the embankment and several parts of the foundations remained.
The castle that we are talking about today, in fact, reminds us very much of one of the medieval times, with a fantastic view of the environment, a tranquil and remote location, long corridors with large rooms and oak floors, high ceilings and grand fireplaces, stone arches and wooden curtains.
This castle adorns a wide wooden central staircase, with small spiral staircase accesses on both sides. The estate measuring almost one thousand square meters contains six modern bathrooms, nine bedrooms and a perfectly equipped family kitchen.
When its imposing gate passes, the castle offers privacy, lush greenery with roses and other flowers, as well as picturesque trails for walking through wood carving and arched stone passages.
Devizes Castle is currently available for purchase, with a price of $2.85 million. Since it is enrolled as a heritage of the first degree, any changes that would have been made to it must first be reported and approved.
