Le Sereno resort triumphantly returns to the scene, after two years ago was destroyed by a hurricane …
St Barths is a destination that always fascinates us. After the incredible damage inflicted by Hurricane Irma in 2017, this Caribbean island is returning to the tourist scene as a true winner – we hear news every day about the re-opening of some resort. Now, it’s time for the Le Sereno Resort, which opens after a great transformation, with thirty-nine renovated apartments, a new beach restaurant, spa and fitness facilities and, of course, the ethos of unconnected luxury and simplicity that also defined the original estate.
In the real spirit of the saying that “the more things change, the more they stay the same”, Le Sereno, like a phoenix, rose from the ashes in a very fine form. Under the guidance of its owners, Kontreras family, the renovation of a hotel that lasted for a year involved the demolition and construction of a large part of the estate. The original design team, Parisian designer Christian Liaigre and architect Fernando Tabora, are back to work, fifteen years after building the first version of this resort. Among the most obvious improvements of this hotel are the new villas that measure about 700 m2 in surface, each of them come with three bedrooms and a private swimming pool facing the sea.
And in order to make improvements in terms of sustainability and preservation, the hotel has received new solar panels, LED lighting as well as special air conditioners.
In the newly built spa you will be able to enjoy the Swiss products of the Valmont brand, while Larusmian’s items can be purchased in the boutique of the hotel, which is the work of the oldest Milan brand Via MonteNapleone. In the restaurant, chef Aleks Simone will connect the Mediterranean with the Caribbean in the best possible way. So, the visit to this resort is something like a road around the world, just without traffic jams.
