This year, Porsche marks the 50th anniversary of the legendary racing model 917, with a new concept car.
At the Geneva Fair in 1969, the German manufacturer presented the first copy of the series (with the mark 917-000), so this 917 concept was also presented on this occasion.
The original 917 had already won the LeMan race in 1970, and this success was repeated next year.
As far as this 917 concept is concerned, Porsche has not released any technical details so far, but more information will be announced later. The Porsche 917 concept can be seen at the Porsche Museum as part of the special celebration of the 50th anniversary of the original 917, from May 14 to September 15 (when it will also be possible to see 10 restored 917 racing cars).
The news says that the 917 concept was run by a small team of designers and engineers, but also that this is just a design studio.
The exterior is in a combination of red and white, inspired by the racing 917KH model that won in Le Mans.
