Ulysse Nardin Freak neXt – Innovation Without Borders

Ulysse Nardin brand recently introduced an intriguing new concept watch called neXt.
It is an innovative time display machine, which comes as an interesting continuation of the incoming Freak model, which was presented during the SIHH 2019 exhibition. The Freak next model gives us an insight into the unique vision of this brand for the future of watchmaking, with an oscillator created entirely from silicone, without any balancing details, with a high frequency also.

The neXt oscillator comes with four silicone rollers, each of which has micro blades. Each two blades are grouped into a triangle that vibrates on the central axis.
This operation relies entirely on the elasticity of the silicone, with blades that form and emit energy continuously.

The lack of friction in the silicon means that the neXt oscillator is an energy efficiency embodiment, giving the watch an energy reserve of seventy hours, which is thirty percent more than the previous model.
This innovative watch also comes with an automatic winding system, called Grinder, and uses a rotor connected to the frame with four crank clicks, which also increases the efficiency of the winding mechanism.

As far as the design is concerned, the new Ulysse Nardin Freak neXt comes in incredible white, with SuperLuminova base. The mechanism is placed in a 45 mm diameter housing made of titanium and platinum. Although only the concept for now, the Freak NeXt model will probably become part of our reality in a couple of months.
