We present you a $500,000 watch, which nearly broke a world record …
This model has more diamonds than any other else in the world, which is why it came to Guinness book of records. Named Mudan, this model is the work of Coronet brand originating from Hong Kong. Presented at the Baselworld exhibition, Mudan watch is decorated with 15,858 diamonds, which weigh in total to 50.01 carats. Mudan in translation from the Chinese language means peony, which is otherwise the King of flowers in Chinese culture. The watch was decorated with 18 carat gold, and got a magnificent diamond figure on his dial, as a work of artist Reena Ahluwalia.
A hyper-realistic diamond painting requires hundreds of hours of work for just one creation, which is why it is highly desirable in the rich world. As Ahluwalia says, her painting is “the light of nobility that each of us carries in ourselves.”
Coronet presented a collection of watches next to the Mudan model at the Baselworld fair with somewhat similar creations, but they are decorated with less diamonds. This is not the first world record for the Coronet brand – in fact, this luxury brand now has nine references to the Guinness world record book, including the one for the most valuable guitar of the world and the Coca-Cola bag that debuted at last year’s Baselworld exhibition, which was also rewarded because of the largest number of diamonds that it is adorned with.
