Rockstar Lenny Kravitz was in charge for the design of a new limited edition Leica M Monochrom. Called the “Drifter” Set, the new Kravitz-designed camera features faux python skin.
Designed to reflect Kravitz’s wardrobe, the kit that comes with Leica Summicron-M 28mm f/2 ASPH, and an APO-Summicron-M 75mm f/2 ASPH lenses and a case to carry them.
“The striking special edition set celebrates Kravitz’s dedication to visual storytelling and pays homage to his inspired, nomadic lifestyle,” Leica says.
“A self-proclaimed drifter himself, the attractive set was designed with Kravitz’s vision of being a free spirit, always on the road and open to adventure – ingredients that ignite visual storytelling.”
The body of the camera is adorned with a unique sepia-brown paint finish coupled with a vegan python leatherette, sourced by Kravitz’s personal friend and revered designer Stella McCartney. The accompanying lenses feature the same brown paint finish as their counterpart, complete with impressive pure brass edges. Additionally, the set includes a striking vegan python carrying strap, brown leather carry cases for each lens, and a brown weekender dubbed “The Drifter Traveler”.
“Drifte”’ set, which will set you back a precious US$24,000, will be launched at Kravitz’s ‘Drifter’ photo exhibition in Wetzlar, Germany’s Leica Gallery. The showcase sees images that he shot while traveling around the world.
