If you’re on of those who appreciate the good things in life, finding beauty in the most unexpected places, Boca do Lobo, a Portuguese design company founded in 2005, has the right thing for you. Their 10-foot Metamorphosis snooker table, which featured at this year’s Milan Furniture Fair will leave you breathless. An extraordinary English snooker table founded by 8 statement designed black wood legs which portray unexpected chaos of high-end materials and unexpected casted brass black bugs and gold scorpions, is designed for an emotional experience.
With renowned Ronnie O’Sullivan cues with 9mm of diameter and a professional snooker kit, this contemporary snooker table certainly challenges the boundaries of game rooms and present day-luxe. A tribute to the darkest side of nature where challenges never seize to exist. All corners have been tempered from aluminium, nursing leather-lined pockets to perfectly fit all 21 balls (15 red, one yellow, one green, one brown, one blue, one pink and one black), as well as the white. Unlike pool, each snooker ball has a specific value, with each red ball scoring one point and other different colours increasing in worth.
The piece also come with a wood kit with a triangle for the 52.4-centimetre balls and two fiddles – one 180cm long and the other 120cm.
While the customisation of this piece is more restricted than other Boca do Lobo pieces – “We have dimensions to respect for this to be considered a competition table,” say the designers – the colour of the Strachan cloth can be changed from its standard red to green, black, grey or pink.
Metamorphosis snooker table is now available to order for €35,000 per table.
