Like Valkyrie, the new hypersport car of the British manufacturer took over the name from the Nordic mythology.
Aston Martin has confirmed that his new model – based on the AM-RB 003 concept that debuted in March in Geneva – was labeled Valhalla, as indicated in the autumn when the company protected this name. This is another name in a row, after Valkyrie, which the British producer “borrowed” from mythology.
And while Valhalla denotes the residence of the warriors who fell in battle, Valkyrie are, according to the same mythology, the epistle of the supreme god Odin, riding the sky. They are in charge of selecting the souls of the hero of the fallen fighters, who deserved to go to Valhalla.
The choice of the name “Valhalla” for the new Aston Martin model also makes sense in the context of other labels that this manufacturer used in its history, especially in recent times. With the initial letter “V”, Valhalla rely on current model names such as Vantage, Vanquish and Valkyrie, with the names Vulcan and Virage. In addition, Aston Martin also uses the “V” – Volante marker for its Convertibles.
Aston Martin did not reveal the technical details of the Valhalla model, but it is known that this car will have a hi-tech drive that consists of a V6 turbo petrol engine and an electric motor with a total power of about 1,000 hp. The plan is a limited edition of only 500 copies, which will be sold at an initial price of about €1 million.
