After the last failed attempt to revive De Tomas (in 2011, the Deauville concept was shown at the Geneva Fair), this Italian brand is now preparing for a new return.
De Tomaso brand is now owned by Ideal Team Ventures from Hong Kong (which is also responsible for the revival of Apollo Automobil), and as the new model at the Goodwood Speed Festival they showed a super-sport model called short P72.
Otherwise, De Tomaso this year marks the 60th anniversary of the company’s founding, so the P72 is a great birthday present.
However, the P72 was inspired by racing model P70 from the 1960s (developed in cooperation with Carolyn Selby), and uses a carbon fiber chassis like the Apollo Intensa Emozione.
For now, not all technical characteristics are known, but the P72 will be powered by a centrally located engine (probably V8), coupled with a manual transmission.
In the plan is limited production of only 72 copies, at a price of about €750,000 per copy (De Tomaso has not yet revealed how many have already been sold).
