Whiskey connoisseurs from around the world had the opportunity to enjoy a unique treat…
The exclusive and world-renowned Hanyu Ichiro Full Card Series has been offered on sale at an auction in Hong Kong. Considered Japan’s most expensive and one of the rarest whiskeys, this collection reached HK$7,192,000 (£755,000).
This desirable ensemble consists of fifty-four bottles of malt whiskey, each representing a ticket from the esteemed Hanyu distillery, which is not currently operational.
The bottles to be sold belong to a group of 400 premium crates, specially preserved by Ichiro Akuto, grandson of Isouji Akuta, a member of the nineteenth generation of sake and whiskey producers who founded the Hanyu Distillery in 1941.
Sold to an unnamed Asian female collector, the range is believed that only four full sets of the collection currently exist.
Other lots in the auction included over 30 bottles of Chichibu, the distillery founded in 2007 by Ichiro Akuto.
