Have you ever dreamed about sleeping in heated igloo while watching the northern lights play across the Arctic sky at night? If your answer is Yes, then travel company Luxury Action, based in the Arctic and Nordic region will make your dream comes true. They are planning to build the “northernmost hotel in the world” by placing a group of heated glass igloos at the North Pole.
Named North Pole Igloos, the portable pods would each have glass walls and ceilings, as well as come their own toilets, and the campsite has a camp manager, arctic wilderness guide, personal chef services, and a security team. All are tested in “extreme arctic weather conditions.”
“We have been operating in North Pole for years and it is one of the most exclusive travel destinations on Earth,” said Janne Honkanen, founder of Luxury Action.
“I thought that this is the time and the opportunity to give a chance for my guests to experience the North Pole with arctic explorers and scientists in a safe way.”
The trip can only be taken in April, when the Arctic is accessible by helicopter. At other times of the year, the igloos can be set up elsewhere on nearby Svalbard’s glacier (the archipelago between the North Pole and Norway).
Of course all that pleasure and luxury have its price – the package starts at 95,000 euros (or about $105,000) per person.
