Beosound 1 New York Edition features a beautiful gradient of black piano as an association to the incredible energy of this city…
Bang & Olufsen, a luxury company, couldn’t find a better way to pay tribute to New York, one of the largest and the loudest metropolises in the world, than a wireless speaker. They have just introduced the Beosound 1 New York Limited Edition model, which combines their precision craftsmanship with a minimalist design inspired by the outline of the Big Apple. As they say from this company, the magnificent gradient of black and aluminum tones represents the city’s relentless energy.
And that subtle gradient is something really special, the result of a patent unique to the Beosound 1 New York edition that shows us the unmatched technical capabilities of the 50-year-old Bang & Olufsen aluminum factory in Struer, Denmark. To create such a gradual shift in color, the aluminum is sanded, polished, anodized, and then machined again by a company expert.
But although the Bang & Olufsen company is known for their daring reputation, their reputation would not be what it is today if they did not offer the best of the best. The Beosound 1 New York edition looks different, while capable of sophisticated 360-degree sound dispersion due to its design. At the top of the speaker is the company’s acoustic lens, which helps to create its spherical sound profile.
The speaker also supports Google Assistant, which lets you use it just like any smart speaker and is compatible with all the leading wireless streaming technologies, including Google Chromecast, Apple Airplay 2 and Bluetooth. This allows it to be used alone or as part of a multi-speaker setup. The built-in rechargeable battery is also good for 12 hours of playback.
Due to the arduous process that goes into producing its color gradient, the Beosound 1 New York edition is limited to batch production of just 1,200 pieces. Available at Bang & Olufsen boutiques and online, the speaker retails for $2,000 and docking station accessories are available for an additional $175.
