Japanese automaker Lexus finally entered to the water with its first-ever luxury yacht, the LY 650 yacht. Luxury vessel expresses the “L-finesse” car design theme on water, as well as apply intricate Takumi artisan skills to the interior. And, what is most important, Lexus LY 650 will go on sale in the US from 30 October with a starting price of around $3.7 million.
Measuring 65 feet in overall length with a 19-foot beam, the ship features three decks and can comfortably sleep six and accommodate up to 15.
Extensive use of carbon fiber composite materials in the construction has kept weight low as well as help with its high strength.
The interior design is all about curved, flowing lines which, combined with a white colour theme. There is an optional Mark Levinson surround sound audio systems, air conditioning, bespoke furnishings, real wood trim and a fully equipped aft galley.
LY 650 is powered by twin Volvo Penta IPS engines, available in a choice of three outputs: 1,050, 1,200 or 1,350 hp for each unit. This powertrain can propel the 40-tonne yacht at speeds up to 31.4 knots.
