Do you also love clocks that have a unique design that can be considered collectible items?
We are talking about models like Urwerk Atomic Table Clock and MB&F Robot Clock. We almost come across another very intriguing model, designed to associate us with the Colt revolver, and it is the work of a truly mysterious entity called the Unnamed Society. Founded earlier this year, the Unnamed Society describe themselves as “a team of passionate inventors and designers”, and their plan is “to create the impossible, that is, what cannot be imagined.”
The first creation to come from this anonymous group is a table clock, created in the form of a revolver. The watch was developed in collaboration with the famous Swiss watchmaker L’Epee. If you’re wondering why the mysterious creators decided to make their debut with the revolver theme in mind, here’s how they explained it: “The purity of purpose inherent in the revolver makes it an ideal platform for displaying time: it symbolizes the value of every moment, speed by which the complexity of something can also be stolen, which is the ultimate, quite simple proposition.”
They further say that only three years have separated the founding of the L’Epee watchmaker and the patent for a mechanical indexing cylinder at the heart of Samuel Colt’s revolver, which gave them the idea to merge the two and create a unique model.
From the start, we knew we were working on something really special. Translating the team’s vision into a single timepiece was very challenging, and all of us at L’Eppe are very proud of the result. Working with time from all its angles, historical, mechanical and aesthetic, rarely has it been so rewarding, ”says Arno Nicholas, CEO of L’Epee.
Unnamed Society says each gun is unique, with a handle and engraving made to order. Materials and finishing details can be created from exotic wood – there are olives, pears, palm trees and many other varieties, as well as decorative rye leather and other special types. From gems that are comfortably housed in precious metal, through deer antlers, to giraffe bones – the possibilities for personalizing this model are limitless.
