Inspired by the original Philisophique wristwatch that was launched in 1982, the new Millenary Frosted Gold Philosophique has just one hour hand, and nothing else. Of course, this handset is very special, since it has an elliptical rotation, following the oval shape of the case.
The original Philosophique had its roots in a one-handed pocket watch, which was very popular during the eighteenth century, when the exact time was not of great importance to many people.

Initially launched as a men’s watch, Philosophique was a huge hit, but many people were impressed by the idea of owning a smaller, one-handed clock, shaped like a pocket watch.
New Millenary Frosted Gold Philosophique watch brings that idea to a whole new level, with incredible finishes on the case made of granulated frosted gold and polished surfaces. Available in white or pink gold variants, the amazing women’s watch is inspired by Florentine jewelry pieces while its ice surface is hand-crafted.
The dial is completed with an interesting surface, which perfectly accentuates its beautiful body. However, what is even more interesting is the fact that frosted gold looks like a clockwise clockwise trajectory that follows the elliptical path and the oval shape of the case.

This is made possible by the fact that the cursor of this model moves along two axes: one which is at the base of the cursor and the other that is located on the outer edge of the rotating disk on the dial. We can safely say that this is simplicity, but with a very interesting twist.
Millenary Frosted Gold Philosophique watch is powered by an entirely new mechanism, cal.3140, which is a practically refreshed version of cal.3120, and features additional gears due to the oval movement of the hands. There is also a special engraving on the rotor, with Audemars and Piguet family coats of arms, filled with varnish in matching color.
