Formula 1 is a brand known for its spectacular design…
The production of vehicles that can reach speeds in excess of 386 kilometers per hour must simply be like this. But how does that attention to detail transfer to other realms, for example, the perfume world? The new collaboration of one of the top British Haute perfumers and a famous designer give us the answer to that question.
The racing organization has decided to make its final race of the decade – the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2019 – the perfect moment to launch a new line of luxury fragrances.
To create the olfactory blends, they hired major noses from Designer Parfums and designer Ross Lovegrove, to design each magnificent bottle like a work of art. The cost of each perfume is about $10,000.
“We are extremely excited to be working with Designer Parfums and [designer] Ross Lovegrove to unveil our new fragrance collection,” said Formula 1’s Director of Marketing and Communications Ellie Norman.
“The unique fragrances and bespoke F1 inspired bottles embody the dynamic qualities of the sport, and we are excited to launch the full collection early next year.”
Inspired by the racing world, all scents are housed inside 3D printed vials that associate us with organic shapes, just as they remind us of the metallic elements of finely tuned engines. The first fragrance, called Agile Embrace, was created on the principles of flow with a golden metallic exterior that surrounds the central heart. Then there is Fluid Symmetry, which takes its sickly shape from an aerodynamic design coupled with a natural aesthetic that reminds us of the future. Lastly, the Compact Suspension features a layered exoskeleton that houses the inner vial.
When it comes to formulating the fragrances themselves, Designers Parfums have developed a collection that is largely based on citrus, champagne and chords spices that combine the world’s most precious ingredients.
If you are not in Abu Dhabi to buy one bottle of perfume in person, know that the line will be launched in the coming year.
