Every diamond is categorized according to four distinct properties: color, carat, cut and clarity. Black diamonds, with their extraordinary origins, are the rarest — and most prized. Dakota Jackson, the award-winning designer used that as inspiration to create the Steinway Black Diamond Limited Edition piano in collaboration with Chinese virtuoso Lang Lang.
While its elegant lines and metallic accents remain a Jackson signature, the piano design also showcases the spirit of Lang Lang’s extraordinary talents, from the three diamond‑shaped silhouettes punctuating the line of the instrument’s rim to the S-shaped topstick.
“The shape of the piano invites you to play it,” enthused Lang Lang, who offers his personal touch with the inscription of his signature on each piano.
