The famous Danish brand wanted to create a speaker that reminds us more of an art sculpture than a hi-tech product…
Bang & Olufsen brand is synonymous with a certain type of Danish design that is minimalist and functional, and their new creation is definitely the embodiment of that design ethos. Inspired by the simplicity of everyday household items, Beosound Balance can easily be ranked among the most elegant speakers you can find on the market. Its two-piece silhouette consists of a fabric-covered upper while the base is made of oak.
The base unit has a speaker control system, but you probably wouldn’t know it at first glance. Its control interface is virtually invisible, and is only activated when one approaches or touches it, allowing you to adjust the volume or change the music.
Of course, sound is a staple of every Bang & Olufsen speaker, and this model, though modest in size, has seven drivers that can fill the entire room. They are accompanied by two woofers that promise powerful bass and eliminate any unwanted vibrations. With this ensemble, the speakers offer two discrete modes – omnidirectional sound as well as a setting that is more geared towards creating ambient sound.
Designed in collaboration with Benjamin Hübert of the UK-based Industrial Design Studio, Layer, Beosound Balance is designed to conquer the entire world with its elegance and performance. If you prefer, know that this speaker can already be purchased for $2,250.
