Swiss luxury watchmaker Roger Dubuis has teamed up with renowned performance tire company Pirelli to create a unique timepieces featuring rubber inlays from certified Pirelli winning tires. First in the brand’s famous Excalibur line is the new Excalibur Spider
Pirelli – Automatic skeleton which pays tribute to Pirelli’s latest performance tire for extreme winter conditions.
Playing with the famous color codes of Pirelli, the surprise comes from the strap featuring rubber inlays from certified Pirelli winning tyres having competed in real races – and adorned with legendary tread motifs reproducing the profile of a Pirelli Cinturato intermediate tyre.
The robust 45mm skeleton case with its black DLC titanium elements and contrasting with Pirelli mythical tyre colors touches provides a perfect frame for Calibre RD820SQ. The design and height of the famous Roger Dubuis micro-rotor effectively enhance the spectacular 3D effect favoured by the Manufacture, as does the raised position of the Astral Skeleton. As well as enjoying the key ‘Pirelli’ signature characteristics linking their high-octane timepieces with a landmark motorsports victory, the production of this timepiece is limited to 88 units.
If you’re looking for something more extravagant and unique you can opt for the Excalibur Spider Pirelli ICE ZERO 2 which is limited to only 1 piece. The strap of the watch features the new pattern created by Pirelli for winter season and ice tracks. Called the ICE ZERO 2, the pattern includes stainless steel nails with a black PVD coating. Thanks to the QRS – Quick Release System, the strap can be changed in a record time allowing the owner to change the look of his/her timepiece extremely quickly.
