If you want to own one of Hawaii’s top homes, you now have a chance and and at a discounted price of $37.5 million. Many will say that it is also too much, but in August 2018 this 10 acres estate overlooking Hawea Point and Kapalua Bay on Hawaii’s island of Maui was listed for $49 million.
Built in 1996 on the island’s west side, the Lahaina mansion was designed to “seamlessly blend the interiors with the tropical gardens and the panoramic ocean views,” according to the listing.
The great room features a dining space and an open, eat-in kitchen, and opens to a covered lanai and pool deck, which are oriented to catch those Maui sunsets.
The contemporary retreat measures 6,645 square feet and has eight bedrooms, including a master suite with a blissful bath that looks out to the garden. The layout includes a wing with four ocean-view guest suites, each with a private lanai.
There’s an additional wing with more bedrooms, a media room, and a gym. The property comes with a whopping 10 acres of paradise and, according to the agent, a solar-powered lighthouse which dates to when the U.S. Coast Guard owned the land.
Lahaina mansion is currently Maui’s most expensive piece of real estate and the second most expensive in Hawaii. It belongs to Craig Ramsey, founder of cloud software company Vlocity and former board member of Salesforce. Ramsey purchased the property in 2000 for close to $14 million. He spent an additional $10 million on a recent total home remodel with $500,000 alone going into the Ludowici tile roof.
