Australian artist and goldsmith Colin Burn considers that two-player strategy board game played by millions of people worldwide deserves luxury uniforms, in his case world’s most expensive. So, he created unique chess set called the Pearl Royale and put it up for sale for $4 million.
If you wonder what makes this chess set so expensive, the answer is that it involved countless hours of craftmanship and is made of solid 18-karat white gold embellished with black and white South Sea pearls and covered with 513 carat diamonds and blue sapphires.
This high-value set has only been displayed to the public eye by one gallery so far in an exhibition: the ACCA art gallery in Beverly Hills in 2019.
The Pearl Royale chess set is only limited to three creations, can be bought directly from Colin Burn, or ordered from the ACCA Gallery. It comes with a diamond and gem certification, and is listed as limited edition artwork.
