In an exciting collaboration, Zuccon International Project and the renowned textile company Dedar introduce the GEA collections, a selection of new natural fabrics that underscore the firms’ commitment to innovative interior design. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in Zuccon International Project’s ongoing exploration of creative research and experimentation in various scenarios.
Recognizing Dedar as the ideal partner due to its prominence in the textile industry and state-of-the-art fabrics, Zuccon International Project embarks on a journey to delve into the subject of materiality and the nuanced conversation around fabrics that embody naturalness, spontaneity, and a powerful decorative impact.
Bernardo Zuccon expresses his pleasure in this collaboration, emphasizing the shared growth paths of the two companies since their founding in 1976. This partnership is not only a result of shared history but also a common commitment to sustainability and a vital corporate work ethic.
The collaboration begins with Zuccon’s focus on specific materials already employed by Dedar, aiming to highlight the theme of nature in this fabric collection. The fabrics selected embody a desire to return to the origin of the material, moving away from pure decoration to rediscover a primitive form. The result is the GEA collection, named after Gaea, the goddess of the earth and the origin of life in Greek mythology. Zuccon customizes three different fabrics from the range with a series of special colors, creating a collection that testifies to a return to a more primitive image.
The GEA collection is further divided into three sub-collections – Teti, Phoebe, and Arge – named after Gaea and Uranus’s children. Each sub-collection carries distinct meanings, with Tethys representing the bond with the sea, Phoebe associated with the founding of the oracle at Delphi, and Arge linked to the cyclops who forged Zeus’s lightning bolts. This creative exploration focuses on assessment parameters like strength, adaptability to damp environments, and durability, with many fabrics originating from recycled materials. Natural fibers such as linen and cotton dominate the collection, complemented by Topinambour silk with pronounced materiality. Different fabric types, including jacquard, add a three-dimensional feel in line with the desired style.
In addition to GEA, Zuccon introduces Arké, a new pattern symbolizing the concept of principle and origin. This pattern, composed of linen yarn and polyurethane thread, embodies the elements of nature – air, water, earth, and fire. Arké goes beyond aesthetics, acting as a narrative within the collection and emphasizing the authenticity of materials as the protagonist.
Arké is presented in three captivating colors: Terra di San, Avorio d’Africa, and Spago Diligo. The collaboration between Zuccon International Project and Dedar brings forth a unique fusion of nature-inspired fabrics and avant-garde design principles, reshaping the conversation around interior design. Dive into the narrative and authenticity of materials, adding a distinctive touch to interior spaces.
