Sunreef Yachts, renowned for its luxury catamarans, is entering a new era of growth with the establishment of a cutting-edge shipyard in Ras Al Khaimah, Dubai. While already boasting two extensive shipyards in Gdansk, Poland, covering over 125,000m², the company is strategically developing a 65,000m² manufacturing facility in Ras Al Khaimah.
This expansion is marked by a commitment to the latest technologies in luxury yacht construction, emphasizing sustainability and energy efficiency. Collaborating with RAK Maritime City, Sunreef Yachts envisions a facility that offers a comprehensive 360-degree approach to yacht manufacturing. The site will feature modern paint shops, carpentry, upholstery, and stainless steel workshops, all equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and robotics.
The choice of Ras Al Khaimah was deliberate, given its pivotal location as a crossroad between the West and East. The region’s exceptional incentives, industry support, and convenient access to key markets make it an ideal strategic choice for Sunreef Yachts.
Francis Lapp, Founder and President of Sunreef Yachts, expresses gratitude to the RAK Government and RMC management for their invaluable support, anticipating that the new shipyard will elevate eco-responsible yachting to unprecedented heights. Munira Lapp, Sunreef Yachts Middle East Director, envisions the facility as a yachting think tank, shaping the future of yachting with creative solutions.
This expansion aligns with Sunreef Yachts’ global strategy, strengthening its presence in the Middle East and fostering connections with the Asian and Australian markets. The new Ras Al Khaimah facility will produce the hybrid ULTIMA catamarans and a range of power and sail yachts from 50 to 70 feet, further solidifying Sunreef Yachts’ position as a global leader in sustainable yacht manufacturing.
