Devon Works LLC, California-based advanced engineering and design laboratory has released the Tread 1 Steampunk, a limited edition version of the Tread 1, which was the original, electronic, belt display watch, inspired by the Industrial Revolution and the invention of conveyor belts.
This new limited edition watch, the retro-futuristic rethink of the standard Tread 1, is very similar in size and configuration to its predecessor, and yet completely specifically. Made of a pleasantly contrasting mix of brass and bronze finishes, Steampunk’s case measures 56mm x 50mm x 18.5mm! Rivets and lots of exposed screws complete its look. The most notable visual feature is situated inside the case where two dark brown fiberglass-reinforced nylon Time Belts moves white colored numerals into exactly the right positions at precisely the right times. Steampunk is powered by a rechargeable lithium battery which recharges using wireless induction.
The Devon Tread 1 Steampunk will be limited to a special edition of 150 pieces and retail for $25,000 when deliveries begin this November.
