Urwerk watches are commonly known as amazing mechanical, complicated and bold creations. So, no wonder why their watches are not seen as feminine. Until now. Geneva-based brand officially entered into the world of ladies’ watches. The Urwerk UR-106 Lotus is brand’s first ever women’s watch. This new timepiece combines Urwerk’s signature satellite hour display with a sleek, feminine case set with diamonds as well as a moon phase disc made of lapis lazuli.
Seemingly a solid circle, the moon itself is actually a maze motif inspired by the hedge mazes found in European palaces, with a tiny flower at its centre. Three satellites, each with four hour numerals, sweep along the minutes scale in an analogue and digital indication of time. The watch measures 35mm in diameter and 49.4mm from top to bottom, with a case height of 14.45mm.
The UR-106 Lotus comes in two versions: one is in titanium and steel with diamonds on the bezel, crown and buckle; its antithesis is in black PVC-coated titanium and steel set with black diamonds. Both edition, limited to 11 pieces will be available later this year, priced at SFr85,000 ($88,000).
