In honor of National Chocolate Day on Oct. 28, the All Chocolate Kitchen store in Geneva is offering a giant 4 lb. truffle made with grand cru Creole chocolate, filled with ganache and gilded with 24-karat gold dust. This chocolate truffle is priced at $3,000 and thus set a new world record for the Most expensive chocolate truffle, according to the World Record Academy. Not, to forget, it comes with a bottle of Dom Perignon.
It’s the creation of chocolate wizard/pastry chef Alain Roby of the All Chocolate Kitchen in Geneva as a National Chocolate Day promotion.
Previous Guinness World Records’ record for the largest chocolate truffle weighted 802 Kg (1,768 lb 11 oz) and was achieved by Mirco Della Vecchia, Andrea Andrighetti, Rimini Fiera, Fabbri 1905, Icam and Martellato (all Italy) at the Sigep Fair in Rimini, Italy on 21 January 2012. The chocolate truffle measured 1 m in height with a circumference of 50 cm long.
