On the occasion of 50 years since the first Can-Am racing season, McLaren has presented a special edition of its model 650S Spider. McLaren 650S Spider Can-Am Special Edition is also there to remind us of a McLaren’s five consecutive titles in this competition from 1967 to 1971. McLaren Special Operations (MSO), for 650S Spider, has predicted some details from the racing cars from that period.
In short, the car comes in Mars Red and Black Onyx colors, and there are a roof made of carbon fiber, the same material is on the hood, front spoiler, the center of the rear bumper, side air vents, a set of gloss black wheels with tires Pirelli P Zero Corsa, carbon-ceramic brakes and a sports exhaust system made of stainless steel.
The interior features leather and Alcantara as well as details of carbon fiber and special edition plate.
The car is powered by the well-known 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with 478 kW / 650 Hp and 678 Nm, enough to accelerate to 60 mph in 3.0 seconds and has a top speed of 204.4 mph. McLaren has announced limited edition of only 50 copies of this 650S Spider model, with its price of 255.850 pounds or about $392,000.
