The automotive industry is currently under heavy criticism by fighters for environmental protection due to Dizelgejt scandals and high levels of gas emissions, and one man has responded to these criticisms with, check this out, Wooden Supercar. Although a large part of this supercar is made from eco-friendly materials, under the hood is powerful 7.0-liter V8 engine with 600 horsepower.

“Splinter” was recently presented at the Motor Show in Essen, and is signed by industrial designer Joe Harmon from North Carolina. Harmon for this project was inspired by “de Havilland Mosquito” wooden plane from the Second World War.

For chassis is made of bent and laminated cherry wood and balsa wood, suspension is also wooden, and the only component that is not organic is the 7-liter V8 engine with 600 horsepower, which is centrally placed and connected with six-speed manual transmission.
